Default Instructions: XCM 360 Wireless Controller Cases - Testing the LEDs

It has been brought to my attention that a few folks are having problems getting their LEDs to work on their lighted controller cases. There is a simple method to test them and will save you time and hassle, so you don't send it back to the retailer only to be told it works just fine. If you are having issues chances are you used the wrong set of instructions for your controller case. There are 2 sets of instructions, one for v1 controller pcbs and one for v2 controller pcbs. If you used one and they don't work then theres a good chance you used the wrong set, just grab the other one and try it out and if that doesn't work follow the steps below.

Testing the LEDs:

Required: 2 x 1.5v Volt Battery (any brand will suffice)

1. Take the top off the lighted XCM controller case and flip it over. There will be 3 wires on the bottom. (Red, White and Black)

2. Take the battery and pay close attention to the + and - sides of the battery. Put the red and white bare ends of the wire on the positive (+) side of the battery and the black on the negative (-) side of the battery.

The case should now be lit up. If it does not light up make sure the switch is turned on. If that does not work make sure the battery is not dead, test it with a multimeter or touch it to your tongue for a split second (watch out a slight shock will follow).

Warning: Do not touch the white or red wires to the negative (-) side of the battery or the black to the positive (+) side of the battery. This will burn up the circuit board and you may see a plume of smoke, this will render the unit useless and the warrantee will be voided.

If the case lights up just fine then you know it was something in your installation that was wrong, if it did not light up then the case might be defective.
