Default Controller Sensitivity problem

So i bought the chrome case for my controller with the LED and wire it up played on it for 20 minutes and it worked great. The next time i started playing i noticed that i had to press extra hard on the A,B,X,Y buttons to get them to respond, this is not a case of the way i put the controller back together as i have already tested this. I even unwired the LEDs and tested it back in its original form and it still only responds to lead fingers. Any ideas or similar problems?

Sounds like the rubber part under the buttons is not correctly in place or is worn out, take it out and reseat it and try that.
