Need a little help understanding.......

Just ordered a rapid fire gear lite and went to try it on call of duty 5 WAW. Now my question is as soon as I start the level i activate the turbo fires the gun really really fast after 1 clip it goes as fast as my finger would go without the turbo activated. Isnt suppose to be super fast all the time. Or is it suppose to be like when its activated to be like it was as quick as my finger is on the trigger
