could someone please tell me where the +5v spot is located, there is no mention in the instructions. Is this location called by another code in the instructions, if so what?

Actually, there is some bad news about the right trigger. When cutting the trace on the pcb there is another trace right next to it that you cannot see unless you have a microscope, if that trace is damaged, its really hard to fix. The thread with the tips on how to install it that i started several months ago in the guides section will show you what i mean. If you damage the trace next to it the right trigger will not work and basically that controller is useless. The best thing to do is grab a microscope, make the cut on that one trace with a new controller and go on from there.

I have the same problems. My RT does not work. I have tried everything, but i think i cut the third trace. Also my sync button does not match up, and the sync button doesn't work anymore. I can't figure out why. I have a lot of trouble soldering into the via, but everything looks secure. I am not sure what i did wrong.

As stated in the thread with tips on how to install this case you really should have some sort of high magnification device on hand to double check traces and solder points, its very easy to get extra solder where it should not be or slice a trace next to where you actually needed to.

Hello - I had quite a lot of the same problems here - somehow I was actually able to fix the RT trace, I think I only knicked it, not severed it completely.

Now - I have a controller that is working 100%, all buttons and triggers work with or without turbo just as they should. It only took me three attempts and two trashed controllers, but now I have a ton of spare controller parts

My question is this - When doing the install -I see where there is a connection called "K" in the pictures, being the top of the three points on the RT - but on my PCB (ver. 2)there is nowhere for this to be soldered. On the PCB I see RTO, RTI and GND in that center location. There is no "K" and there is no additional solder point for K.

Question 1: What is K?

Question 2: When using turbo on any button, I get a stuttering effect. In essence, the audio output of any "turboed" function sounds like morse code ... .. ....... ... ..... ..... etc. From youtube videos, i was expecting a more uniform output ................. etc.
This is across the board, from my xbox dashboard to any game i'm playing.
Is this caused by not having a solder point to "K"? or is there something else happening?

One more question - can any XCM case be retrofitted with the rapid fire? - In other words, can I purchase a chrome shell and install all the rapid fire parts?

Wanted to say i followed the instruction that came with the Rapid fire lite, have ZERO issues, first install went perfect. thanks im impressed with the quality of this shell.

Chose XCM as they are a site sponsor to the web site i moderate at. it was a good choice as i can see now

to the poster above, yes, rapid fire lite PCB boards appear to retrofit nicely in existing XCM shell products.

I didn't even know about the "hidden" trace until after the install i'm glad i cut exactly where it shows in the diagrams

as for spot "K" it doesnt exist so i ignored this part of the install.

lastly, i noticed that the rapid fire functionality seems to skip or miss a beat on occasion, is this due to a cold joint, lopsided contact or is it a limitation in some software where the pace of the button press exceeds the games ability tot register it?

thanks!
