That could be, i know that ribbon cable is a pain in the ass. I had one i tried to get into place with an exacto knife tip and then slipped and severed several traces. I really wish they had made the ribbon cable connector have more clearance or just a tad longer or something. I know that was one part i was very unsure of a few times, i knew the soldering and traces were cut fine, but that ribbon cable kept me from completing the install. It was such a pain to have to desolder everything and then resolder a new yellow wafer in place. Actually it wasn't that bad, but i was in no mood to play around with it at the time. So i left it and came back an hour or so later. I find getting up and leaving the scene is a good thing to do once in awhile when attempting to install this mod.

I was able to get a yellow wafer from a guy I know who only used the new board one. PITA having to drive an hour through the snow, but I did, replaced the one with the curls ribbon cable, and it works great accept as soon as you add a battery pack, the center 3 lights flicker brightly. Not sure if I have it grounded properly or what the deal is. Anyone else have this happen? I always tell people I install XCM controller shells for to remove batteries when not using anyways, but it is kindof annoying and obviously a flawed install. When I have it settled, I will be submitting my own little guide for the old board style. I also wanted to add, if you prefered a sexy red, green, or even clear, the board in the top half of the shell is completely interchangeable with other XCM shells with lights. And whats with that previous post!? |

Actually that flicker you mention is perfectly normal. All mine do that when it is installed correctly. Also good job on installing it ![]() That previous post was a spammer, they go around to vbulletin forums and post that crap in hopes of getting ranked by google or other search engines for the garbage they are trying to push. I deleted the post, banned his ip and account, and will be installing some better security measures to ensure these deadbeats do not post here again. Hopefully i can get a special bot installed that will search for these types of posts and destroy them immediately. Either way i have it set so google and yahoo do not follow external links away from this site, so even had i left the post the spammer would not have gained anything anyhow.

I fixed one of the new board ones I have, and everything works except, I still obviously F** ed up the left trigger. Like mentioned above about the flicker. It is not just a quick flash when the battery is installed. The CG does that. The matrix board, the lights actually continue to flicker, no flash, just coontsatant flicker until you unplug the battery or turn it on.

I have a CG as well when I first installed mine I had problems with the flicking and my trigger where not working some times. Make sure the orange ribbon is all the way in. Also make sure the solder is holding well around the RTO. That was causing mine to flicker.
