Not sure exactly what happened, but the controller with PCB installed works fine, minus bumpers and triggers. Plug it into the top half of the controller, no luck. And yes, I hit the 2 solder points together on the top half. I'm going to leave it at that! I don't even know what to say at this point. I had an easier time doing a southpaw mod, adding a rapid fire chip, and relocating the L3 and R3 buttons all in one controller. I know its not my soldering or trace cutting!

If you read the thread here or at xcm-usa (when it was up) you would have seen where i had stated you need a microscope and the trace that is most troubling. I did not have a hand in making the mod, the factory in china is who developed it and released it, we are just a support forum. We are here to help, but do not say we are the ones who created or made this mod so hard to install. The only thing we did was translate the intructions from chinese-english to english, and we had to do that without having the unit in our possession first, so it wasn't the easiest thing to do. If you want to complain please email the folks at www.xcm.cc and let them know. We are just a means of support and this forum was made so other users can also help with tips and pointers.

Not only that but i just wanted to add i've spent over $800 out of pocket for this place, plus about another 30 hours of my time getting this site looking professional to provide support for products that are otherwise not supported by the manufacturer. From here on out any attacks on this forum or website will result in an instant ban. If anyone wants to be sour then take it up with someone else. The attitude here should be light hearted and any help given should be appreciated. This was not funded by xcm, i nor anyone else here is being paid by xcm and this forum was created out of the kindness of my heart. All i ask is that people repay it forward and help someone else out to help lighten the load on myself and any other moderators who may be appointed in the future. I don't expect people to just leech and leave, that will not be tolerated and if that is the trend to be expected, this site will no longer exist. Ok thats the end of my rant, carry on

It is not hard to tell that my traces are cut! I have cut many a trace in the southpaw mod. I can also verify they are cut by trying the triggers and bumpers. I have gone over this thing 20 times. Now, as soon as I provide power, the start/dash/back lights flash until it is powered up. as for my complaints, I am just venting, although after contacting XCM.cc for help, they told me to come here! So that means XCM is telling people to seek help from you. I followed the directions, read the help thread here(which is for new pcb not old) and still have problems. As I have stated, I am very experienced in working on controller boards. I have installed a half a dozen south paws, several dozen rapid chips, and done everything else from relocating bumpers, thumb buttons as well as combining buttons. If I can't get the help I need here, I obviously need to learn Chinese for help!

Look i don't care what they told you, they did not pay for this place, nor did they lift a finger to help make this place possible. They told you to come here because we are easier to deal with and we speak english. Other than that we don't owe anybody anything, period. We LET them send people here, we don't pay them (why the hell would we, thats ridicoulus to even think that would be the case), and they don't pay us. In fact if we wanted to claim we have no direct affiliation with them, that might be in our best interest. Does every xbox 360 forum belong to microsoft or is supported by them? Not a chance. This place is pretty much the same way. We are on our own and if people want help and we feel like giving it, then we will. But we are in no way obligated to offer any type of support, period.

Second, to think anyone could work on one of these 100% stress and worry free is a mistake. I am simply stating my confusion as I try to get this thing working. What may appear to be flaming or insults is nothing more than venting frustration for something that has cost me several controllers. I am very glad this site is here, and that someone who speaks english is willing to help. Every thing I figure out in this process will be added in a support fashion, but until then, I am just trying to figure it all out and still have a full head of hair. I understand 100% that forums like this are what allow these kinds of toys to be enjoyed. Please forgive my frustration and understand it is the alternative to chucking this controller at the wall. |

I understand, i spent an entire 2 weeks working with this mod and trying to find new way to make it easier for people to install and was somewhat successful only to find out there are quirks once you do get it working without the triggers and bumpers. But rest assured those problems were forwarded to the engineers at XCM and they are working on a fix right now. I have installed this mod on several controllers myself (4 to be exact) and have ruined about 3 others in the process. None of this was paid for by XCM and they aren't even offering to reimburse me for my time or the controllers that were ruined. However i suspected that would be the case but decided to proceed anyhow. I figured any knowledge i could gain and help someone else out with was worth it and they'd be grateful for the help they received. And so far i've been right, but it was very stressful for those couple of weeks. Just grab a beer and kick back and relax. Getting all stressed out will not help the situation and will make it worse. This mod is VERY VERY VERY difficult, but it is doable. Like i said i personally needed to use a microscope, in fact i now have a digital microscope that i probably will not have a use for until my kids are old enough to get into science, but anyhow, it came in extremely handy. In fact it is the first tool i would recommend to anyone attempting this install. I've said it over and over again, no matter how well you think you are seeing the traces, you cannot be 100% sure one is not severed that isn't suppose to be. Please check the photo in the tips section, i posted a pic with the trouble area that is very important. i could not see the T in the trace until i had a microscope, period. And that trace costed me 2 controllers. Obviously i was able to fix them, but what the hell do i need 2 extra controllers on top of the 3 i already have that aren't modded :/ Anyhow i cannot repeat it enough. MICROSCOPE, MICROSCOPE, MICROSCOPE, MICROSCOPE. If you don't have one, GET ONE! (woody from toy story said it best)

No problem, i understand how you could be lead to think that. I don't mind them sending people here and would rather they did, they have better things to focus on, like developing new products or enhancing their existing products. But we just need to make it clear that we are not paid by them and are doing this as a service to the community. They put our url on their retail packaging, but thats only because they want people to come here and not bother them or the retailers. The fact is unless i had made this place this type of support would not be available at all, its a shame, but thats the grim truth. We will do our best to help people out, but everyone has to do their best to not take it out on us and redirect their anger on their spouses, pets or children. (hehe jk)

if it were not for trailblazers like you, none of the mods I do would be possible. I had a thought, is it possible the ribbon cable is not in right, maybe shifted left or right? I just can't figure out why when i put a battery in the lights flash but the mod doesnt work. I actually had the left bumper light go on when i tried to set the right, and nothing else worked.
