Default XCM Cross Battle Adapter - My Impressions

Ok then, so i recieved my adaptor today and i have a couple impressions regarding the product.

Theres an issue with the trigers sensibility, well not really an ISSUE, but it can become a little annoying, especially in racing games.
There is no sensibility on the trigers while using the adaptor and the 360 controller, meaning, it does not matter if you press just a little on the trigger LT/RT, the console always assumes you're pressing the triger all the way down. I dont know if is just mine that does this, but if its not heres the reference for future versions of the product.

Other than that, and the no rumble, the product is wonderful, thank you XCM

I'm not sure if the triggers are compatible the way you are talking, i know it would be hard to pass those values from one controller to another because they depend on varing resistance, and if the ps3 controller uses ranges different than the 360 then it would take alot of work to make it work correctly. I cannot say for sure but that would be my speculation. The rumble is just not something that can be easily done, not to mention a good number of ps3 games don't even fully support rumble yet. Sure alot of new games do but the older ones don't, or at least thats been my experience when playing my ps3 console. Personally i think they are the least of anyones worries, the main purpose of this device is to be able to use the 360's controller and it also adds rapid fire, those 2 features alone outweigh any minor annoyances, at least on this first version. I'm sure in 6+ months they'll revisit the product and make any adjustments that may be needed to keep it selling, but for now just putting it on the market is a good place to start. Who knows, maybe if one of us fiddles with the guts of it some we can make some of the other features work and just release the info here for people to mod their mod, hehe

Ah, it must be the varing resistence then. As i said, its not really an issue, its just there are certain games (racing mainly, with accelerator/brake) that use the trigers with diferent kinds of pressure.
Personally, i dont care much for the rumble, its ok to have it, but im fine also without it. Its just, in my opinion, it should say on the package, or in the description of the product in the stores, because one would assume it has it. If theres information that it does not have it im thinking it would avoid some whiners and frustrated costumers, but anyway that's just my opinion.
Once again, thanks for the great product.

P.S- sorry for any bad grammar, english is not my main language.

Yeah i hear ya, although when i did the chinese to english translation for the packaging material there wasn't any notice of it, so i had no idea until the final product showed up, but thats the manufacturers fault. Anyhow they make thousands of them before the product is released so i doubt they'll change it now, but i will inform our resellers about it and see if they want to add it to their product descriptions. But thanks for your review, its good to know others are having good luck with it

I wouldn't expect a newer version anytime soon, it'll be 6-8 months or longer. They have other products in the works and this one does a fine job. Not to mention there is no competition, this is the first adapter of its kind. If someone else comes out with one like it, then that may force them to revisit it, but until then, theres no reason to. You have to understand, companies are all about making money, the longer they can sell the current model, the more money they make. They have to recoup the money already spent on development. Sure a few extra sales would be nice, but it won't justify the cost of more r&d to get just a couple more sales. It might not be ideal, but its just how companies work, its all about $$$, nothing more nothing less.

Imo your best bet is to buy one and mess around with the guts. That way you don't have to wait for the features you want. If you aren't capable of doing that, then you really aren't in a position to complain too much.

A couple more days with the adaptor, and so far so good, except one thing... disconnects.
This one is quite more troublesome then the thing with the trigers. Wether im playing for 2-3 hours or five minutes it just ramdomly disconects. The thing that's strange is that the blue led is still on, its just that the controller does not work at all, so i have to disconect the usb plug and plug it again on the console. So far its been happening every day i play a game. My play sessions are around 3-4hours a day and i get like 4- 5 disconects, so one more thing to fix on the next revision.

That probably isn't the unit itself, theres so many other things that could be causing that problem and i have not heard anyone else complaining about it. For one thing it could be the unit itself, meaning it may be defective or has a loose connection, or the wired controller or the usb port on the console. Until you've troubleshooted the problem properly i'd say that its most likely not a design flaw but something else.

I honestly dont know why this happens.

I tried on both USB ports (40Gg model), and its the same. I got a new 360 wired controller, because the one i had before was not functioning properly, so the one im using is new. The tip of the cable on the controller is properly secure, honestly there's not much more options to blame for this, unless the unit itself.

I dont know what to test more, some help would be usefull.

P.S- Also one other thing. On Call of Duty 4 rapid fire does not work on the trigers and works with all the other buttons, but for instance, on Bioshock its works like it should with all the buttons, strange...

Call of Duty 4 probably has the rate of shooting limited. The xfps rateup has had rapid for for about a year now, so it would be feasible if they had done that to keep people from having an unfair advantage. I imagine alot of newer shooting games with online multiplayer will have that.
