Default Battle Cross adapter huge flaw

I got excited when I first read about the Battle Cross adapter, but I soon realized its most pressing flaw. The 360 controller is widely viewed as the best controller for FPS games, so naturally I want to buy the Battle Cross to play games like COD5 , Metal Gear Solid4, KillZone 2, etc. The adapter converts the 360 triggers to the PS3 triggers L2 / R2, and sadly the best FPS games out on PS3 use L1 / R1 for firing controls. So I am forced to use the 360 shoulder buttons for firing on all of the best FPS games on PS3. I am sorry, but this kills the Battle Cross for me.

TeamXCM , I read in one of your other posts that the Battle Cross does not use the Analog function of the 360 triggers, meaning they are only ON or OFF. Theoreticly, this might make the triggers easily swapped for other buttons on the adapter. This leads into my big question... How hard would it be to reconfigure the Battle Cross to swap L1/R1 with L2/R2 ?

Right now the only way to use the 360 controller the way it was designed to work on the PS3 is to internally swap the 360 buttons inside of the controller. This is possible by modifying the potentiometers of the triggers, cutting into the traces on circuit board, and soldering wires inside of the controller. This would be rediculously hard.
Is there any hope of XCM fixing this issue?

Dude, most of the games I've played let you remap the triggers/buttons in software, including Killzone 2 and COD4.

I was not aware that Killzone had button remapping, but the majority of PS3 shooters use L1/R1 (Call of Duty WAW, Resistance, Metal Gear 4, UT3, etc). The PS3 trend is that the future FPS games will also use L1/R1. This issue isnt going to go away...

Off the top of my head... I can think of only two games that don't... (Note: I buy only exclusives on the PS3 all mutliplatform games I get on the 360 due to comfort issues.) Uncharted, and Warhawk* but, really, that's two too many but that's laziness on the developer's part.

* Went to check SOCOM: Confrontation as its been awhile since I've played but got prompted to download a two GB patch... Then again you were only interested in the good shooters.

Granted, I would really like to see something that fixes the above two and any future laziness that might ensue...

Last note: I tried the Red Faction: Guerrilla demo on the PS3 and it too does allow for the swap of L1/L2 and R1/R2.

They are not playing cod waw, it was released before that game came out.

Hi - I was just looking at this thread and it certainly looks like they are playing COD:WAW. If the poster is correct about the remapping function not being present - is there any idea how this was done so the controller works on the PS3 shooting with the trigger?? This is the only thing keeping me from buying this product. Thanks.

The solution is simple, just change the settings ingame. Its not a fault of the device, it works just perfectly.

Sorry, but allot of the games on the PS3 don't allow for button reconfiguration... which is what the OP is talking about.

(Granted, calling it a flaw in the Battle Cross Adapter is likely the wrong choice of words, but it is what is keeping me from buying one, and likely him too, as we're waiting for XCM, or someone else, to design a relatively cheap workaround...
