Hello! I've been having trouble with my XCM Wii case. First off, the 2 screws on the side of the wii case that holds the faceplate together are going only about half way in. I've checked that the screw is actually going into the screw hole and I made sure that I'm using the right type of screw, and it just doesn't go in all the way. My second (and most annoying problem) is a problem with the face plate. When I try to push the face plate on so it can firmly stay on the wii, the face plate (right side of face plate where screws wont go all the way in) doesn't go all the way on. I've tried putting on the regular wii faceplate on and it fits all they way on even with the buttons and the disk slot, I've triple checked everything around the faceplate to make sure there's no wires pushing on the face plate when i try to close it to make sure everything is fine, but the XCM faceplate just doesn't go on like its supposed to. I'm also sure that because I can't fit the screws in to keep it in place has nothing to do with the face plate not staying on. By the way, every time I apply pressure to the position where the face plate should be and be staying at, it moves forward (just a little bit, but it's very annoying every time I look closely at my console, especially when i look at the top of the wii because you can obviously see that the face plate isn't straight and not aligned very well) away from the wii. I think the faceplate isn't going on all the way because one side is thinner than the other (right side is thinner then the left) but I'm not really sure, and I have no idea why the screws don't go all the way in. Please help!

You may want to check iso-420.org the guy who runs it reviewed the case and said he had the same problem but eventually solved it. I think it may just be the case is fresh from the mould and isn't prethreaded, but once you get the screws in once then from that point on it will be much easier. But anyhow check his site out and see if you can find any other pointers to help you out, if not let us know and we will try to figure this out.

I was unable to find anything helpful on his site, but I'm going to try fit the screws in with pliers without the faceplate and hopefully it will make it easier to fit them in like you said. I don't think fitting the screws in will close the gap between the faceplate and the wii though.

You may want to take it apart and try it all over again. Sometimes a part is not seated correctly and taking it apart and putting it back together again usually fixes the problem.

I found out what the problem was with the faceplate and the gap, it turns out my faceplate got messed up somehow so it doesn't even touch part of the wii unless i put force on it. Where can I buy a new faceplate, and when I was re-opening my wii, I messed up my thermal paste for the GPU, should I use arctic silver 5 to replace the thermal paste? Thanks |

Sorry for the double post, but I was wondering what this tape is and what it does in step 14. http://xcm.cc/how_to_install_the_i_case_p.b.htm |

Nvm, the stuff on the GPU wasn't thermal paste, but thermal pads. If I use arctic 5, then there wont be any contact between the GPU and heatsink. So What thermal pads should I use for my GPU? |
