Default Mega Cool VGA Blank Screen with PS2

Disregard this post. Turns out my problem was that my PS2 didn't save the fact that I had changed the display to component out. I managed to accidentally change it while mashing buttons on the blank screen.

For future people with my problem, the key combination for changing to component when you can't see the screen:
1. Boot PS2 without a disc. Wait 15 seconds or so.
2. Press down once on the d-pad, then press x. (this brings you to the system config menu)
3. Press down 3 times, then press x again. (you're now in the display settings menu)
4. Press left once, then press x. You should now be in component mode.

Anyway, the thing looks pretty good for PS2, but I'm thinking I'll stick with my HDMI to DVI cable for the PS3.

Bought the Mega Cool VGA from extreme-mods.com and just got it today. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to work for me.

When I plug in the PS2, the Source button flashes between blue and green, and the display says "Cable not Connected." I can hear sound, but can't see anything. I've changed the display settings to component, but it doesn't appear to make a difference.

When I connect my PS3, I get an image, and the source button stops blinking. (it turns blue)The display is extremely grainy, however, and it doesn't seem to matter which resolution I pick.

I haven't been using the official component cable, so I went and picked up one of those. It doesn't make any difference at all.

All of this is using an Acer 22'' LCD.

Not very mega cool at all, in my opinion. Is my device defective?
