Default Multiple Problems With XCM 1080P Mega Cool VGA

Okay so after much deliberation i decided to try this vga box. Not many reviews had been done on it but it seemed to do everything i needed it to.

So i get it today and hook the baby up. First thing i noticed is that when switching resolutions not one of them fit my screen properly. I've got a 24" Samsung SyncMaster 2443BW and each resolution is not properly centered on the screen. Does anyone know of any way around this besides having to move the position of the screen each time i use my PS2?

Second concern was with the 1080P resolution. It seems to have vertical lines going down the screen and the image itself is split down the middle with some on the left and some on the right hand side of the screen. Any ideas what this is?

Finally and the one which is most bothersome is the fact that i have these two (perhaps 1 inch) blue/purplish horizontal lines which are scrolling up my monitor whenever i turn my PS2 on. It's not as noticeable on a black screen but when the screen is a lighter colour they stand out quite a bit. Are there any known issues of this or any possible workarounds?

Looking forward to a reply.

wow. if i had known their support was going to be like this i would have just stayed away from this product.

i'll just be sending this back to the place i purchased and be sure to post a review online about how this product does not perform as it should.

avoid this product like the plague!

for the HDMI blaster atleast my idea is it won't properly aspect content not in 720p, or 1080p in the case of 1080p vga box. At the same time I have seen in reviews the wii and PS2 properly fitting to a 16:9 screen.

it fits the purpose I got it for atleast, that one quibble aside. The size is workeable for me, as for some other problems make sure to use your own VGA cables. Analog cables, especially pin based like VGA are very finicky unlike pure digital connections. a Cheap HDMI cable is up to the same quality a high quality VGA cable which usually cost a little more. (this is really for the lines issue)

The problem is the folks at XCM do not actually post here, in fact i seem to be the only one posting here to answer questions. I have been away for vacation a few times this summer and do not check this place as often as i do in the fall-spring months, so bear with me.

i understand and appreciate what it is that you do here.

my anger is not with you as a person but with the company for releasing a product without a least a decent staff to help with support.

i use the term "company" loosely because if they cannot hire at least a few people to help customers with support or tech issues then why bother releasing a product.

i've only got a limited amount of time to return this product as most retailers have a 30 day limit on returns and if its a simple issue which can be resolved i would happily keep the box.

I feel you should try getting a better quality VGA cable and component cable for the ps2. Maybe its the fault of the cable. I saw the video on xcm site. http://www.xcm.cc and it showed ps2 working flawlessly.

Yes dedicated staff would be nice however, they are located in china, so unless you can speak chinese fluently, it would not help. I do the best i can to translate what they are trying to say and most of the time i do a good job, but i cannot communicate back and forth on a daily basis. I have a life outside of this place and during the summer my family comes first. I am not paid by xcm to provide this support nor do any of the retailers pay. In fact i pay for the bandwidth, software, design and etc out of pocket in hopes that some people may get the answers they seek from here without having to contact the manufacturer directly and get broken chin-english answers back from them. Its a situation where you are dealing with a chinese company who does the best they can but does not have the resources to provide the type of support that americans have come to expect from american companies. You can choose to buy their products or not, its up to you. This place is just here to hopefully provide some support whereas without it there would be none.

Oh I thought, you owned Extreme-mods.com and had been earning huge money by promoting the same here.

I've got a 24" Samsung SyncMaster 2443BW and PS2 too, I hooked it up with an XCM Multi-Console Component cable Version .3 just like the instructions show but added a female to female VGA connector for VGA input. I only get audio no visual, however, I did get a brief but horrible picture briefly before I unplugged the XCM Cable out to move my PS2. Can you tell me how you hooked up yours? I'm getting frustrated after the money I spent + the 3-day shipping paid as well.
